2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Specs The phrase newest and greatest may be a cliché, but it actually applies to the all-new Chevy Tahoe.
With a fresh face and contemporary content, the three-row SUV is the shorter version of the equally new Chevy Suburban. The 2021 Tahoe is not only larger on the outside, the third row and cargo space have also grown.
This is partly due to the debut of the independent rear suspension, which solved the problems that plagued the previous generation. Along with a larger cab, it offers two dutiful V-8 engines, as well as an efficient and torque diesel.
There are also a large number of driving assistance options and popular infotainment features that families need to delight at full size. Look for the 2021 Tahoe to go on sale in the mid-2020s.

The 2021 Tahoe is completely new and significantly improved. Along with a completely redesigned exterior and interior, the three-row SUV is stretched to provide more cargo and passenger space.
The cab also benefits from the Tahoe’s first independent rear suspension, which has already been taken over by direct rivals such as the Ford Expedition and the Nissan Armada. Chevy receives a host of new technology as well as the addition of a diesel engine option.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Specs
Two carryover V-8 engines will initially be offered on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe; a 5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and a 6.2-liter with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. Later, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel I-6 with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft is offered. All engines are linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Price
We think the mid-level RST and Z71 models hold the best value, with the former being flashier and the latter being aimed at adventurous folk. We prefer the standard all-wheel drive, robust appearance, and exclusive off-road equipment of the Z71.
While it can’t be paired with the diesel engine like the RST, it can be kept with the optional adaptive dampers and air suspension- unlike the RST. Maybe the starting price of a 2021 Chevy Tahoe is $49,000.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Tahoe has been powered by a V-8 for its entire life, and that remains for the latest generation. However, the standard 355-horsepower 5.3-liter and available 420-horsepower 6.2-liter blocks are now accompanied by a diesel 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine.
While it has the least horsepower of the three, its 460 lb-ft of torque corresponds to that of the larger V-8. Every 2021, Tahoe is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear or four-wheel drive.
The off-road-oriented Z71 model gets a two-speed transfer case that offers traditional all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels packed with all-terrain tires, and underbody protection.
It is also available with adaptive dampers that are standard on the upper-echelon Premier and High Country. The latter and the RST model both ride on glitzy 22-inch rims for extra curb appeal.
An adjustable air forestation is another option that allows the Tahoe’s driving height to be automatically and manually lowered or increased. This allows for better accessibility of passengers, aerodynamics, and ground clearance.
